Milan, 28 July (LaPresse) – The sky is blue over Lodz. Italy, coached by Julio Velasco, writes a new page in history by winning its third Volleyball Nations League in four years. Ankara 2022, Bangkok 2024 and now Lodz 2025. The Azzurre have done it again, this time adding an unbeaten record never before seen in the VNL. The 2025 gold comes at the end of a perfect run of 15 wins in 15 matches, which, added to those achieved in 2024 (between the VNL and the Olympics), makes it 29 consecutive wins in official matches. A record of successes, with the latest, the one for glory in Poland, coming against Brazil 3-1 (22-25; 25-18; 25-22; 25-22) and the legendary Ze Roberto, defeated at the end of a match that saw the Azzurre do what they did throughout the tournament: dominate, overcome every difficulty and push beyond their limits. There could not have been a better send-off for Italy, who will arrive at the World Championships in Thailand with an extra gold medal around their necks.
