Milan, July 29 (LaPresse) – Simona Quadarella won the silver medal in the 1500m freestyle at the World Swimming Championships in Singapore with a time of 15:31.79, setting a new European and Italian record. It marks the sixth consecutive world podium for the Italian swimmer in the 800m and 1500m events.
Gold went to the strong favorite, American Katie Ledecky, who clocked 15:26.44, while the bronze medal was claimed by Australian Lani Pallister with a time of 15:41.18.
