(LaPresse) – A bitter debut for Matteo Arnaldi, one of eight Italians competing in the main draw of the Cincinnati Open, the seventh ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the season with a prize pool of $9,193,540, currently being played on the hard courts of the Lindner Family Tennis Center in the Ohio metropolis. The 24-year-old from Sanremo, ranked 41st in the ATP rankings, was defeated in the first round by France's Benjamin Bonzi, ranked 66th, with a score of 6-7(1) 6-3 6-4 in a match lasting approximately three hours.
