Turin, Aug 11 (LaPresse) – “Naples, thank you.” With these words, Giacomo Raspadori begins his farewell message posted on Instagram after his official transfer to Atlético Madrid.
“When you leave and move away from your family, you expect to feel loneliness. But here, I realized I was never alone. On the contrary, I became part of a new big family: Napoli and the Neapolitans, who, like no one else, know how to unite,” wrote the former Napoli forward.
“I lived some of the most important moments of my life with you. Winning two league titles in three years is unimaginable, and wearing the tricolor on our chests made me incredibly proud.”
He thanked his teammates and staff—physiotherapists, doctors, kit managers, chefs, and everyone working behind the scenes—for their daily dedication. “For someone like me who has football as his greatest passion, I feel privileged to have lived and breathed your infectious football and human energy.”
Raspadori also recalled becoming a father in Naples: “Together with Elisa, we experienced the greatest joy of our lives, which ties us to this city forever.” He concluded, “What we achieved together will remain in history—and above all, in our hearts. Ve voglio bene guagliù.”
