Athletics: Tamberi Becomes a Father, Camilla Is Born

Rome, Aug. 14 (LaPresse) – Camilla was born between 2:00 and 2:15 p.m. at the Maternal and Child Hospital Salesi in Ancona. She is the daughter of Olympic champion Gianmarco Tamberi and Chiara Bontempi. The baby will remain in the hospital with her mother until Saturday, when they will be discharged. The birth of the high jump champion’s daughter was confirmed to LaPresse by Professor Andrea Ciavattini, director of the obstetrics and gynecology unit at Salesi. “Best wishes to father Gianmarco, mother Chiara, and the newborn from FIDAL President Stefano Mei, the Federal Council, and all of Italian athletics,” reads a statement from the Italian Athletics Federation, welcoming the firstborn of the world and European high jump champion and his wife Chiara Bontempi.
