WTA Cincinnati, Errani/Paolini into doubles semifinals

Turin, Aug. 15 (LaPresse) – Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani have advanced to the doubles semifinals at the “Cincinnati Open,” a WTA 1000 event with a prize pool of $5,152,599, held on the hard courts of the Lindner Family Tennis Center in the Ohio metropolis. The two Italians, top seeds in the draw, defeated American Peyton Stearns (No. 53 in the doubles ranking) and Czech Marketa Vondrousova (No. 247) in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, in one hour and six minutes of play. In the semifinals, Errani and Paolini will face China’s Hanyu Guo (No. 28 in doubles) and Russia’s Aleksandra Panova (No. 26), who advanced from the quarterfinals after Ostapenko/Krejcikova withdrew (the latter having picked up an injury in her round-of-16 match against Paolini).
