Rome, 29 August (LaPresse) – "During training in preparation for the World Championships, player Giovanni Gargiulo suffered a sprained right ankle, for which he underwent clinical and diagnostic tests that revealed a capsuloligamentous injury. The player has been rested for the necessary treatment and will be monitored by the national team's medical staff to determine his recovery time." This was announced by Fipav in a statement. ‘In addition to the Italian centre-back, Yuri Romanò will also be absent from the tournament here in Piedmont,’ added Fipav. "The opposite player has suffered a muscle strain to his left thigh, for which he underwent clinical and diagnostic tests and has been placed on a differentiated training programme as a precautionary measure to aid his recovery.
