Cycling, Cipollini leaves Ancona hospital: ‘Fit and ready to return’

Ancona, 19 Nov. (LaPresse) – Cyclist Mario Cipollini, 58, will be discharged today from the cardiology and arrhythmology clinic of the Marche University Hospital in Torrette, Ancona. Cipollini is doing well and has had a subcutaneous defibrillator implanted, which will allow for the monitoring and treatment of any dangerous ventricular arrhythmias. The procedure was performed by Dr Laura Cipolletta and Professor Antonio Dello Russo. Cipollini will be discharged today and says: "Thanks to Professor Antonio Dello Russo, the extraordinary conductor of his orchestra in the operating theatre, where they worked with great skill on my operation. Dr Roberto Corsetti, whom I could describe as the pianist in this case, and Dr Laura Cipolletta, who with her gentle hands played the role of first violinist, were all exceptional. Thanks to them, I woke up this morning feeling very fit and ready to return to my activities."
