It was a tough second run for Italian skier Alex Vinatzer, who nevertheless achieved another top-ten finish after placing sixth in the first run. The skier from Val Gardena finished eighth, 0.65 seconds behind Meillard. A few mistakes cost the Italian some speed on the Face de Bellevarde slope, completely in shadow. After his podium in Beaver Creek, Vinatzer remains confident and continues to stay among the top contenders early in the season.
