Milan, Jan. 17 (LaPresse) – “Lecce come from excellent performances; they are in good physical condition. Against Inter, they put in a very good performance, suffering just the right amount. It’s very important for us because in the last three home games we had two draws and one win: we need to start winning at home again, especially as we return to San Siro on February 22.” This was said by Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri at a press conference on the eve of the match against the Pugliese side.
“There will be changes, but I don’t even know which ones yet; today I’ll see the team and we’ll check who has recovered. Changes are important—at Como they were decisive. Pavlovic will hardly be in the game; until yesterday he couldn’t head the ball. Gimenez is still out; the others are more or less all fine. There will be changes because this is the fourth game in two weeks,” he continued.
“Was Como a turning point in the season? It was an important match, especially to stay close to the top four. Tomorrow we need a win, playing a good game and showing great respect for Lecce. We must not lose sight of the clear objective we are playing for: to finish in the top four and return to the Champions League,” Allegri emphasized.
“Does it bother me to hear talk about Milan’s luck? Luck is a part of life; the more we seek it, the better. I think it shows a lack of respect for everyone working at Milan, with whom we are achieving decent results,” he concluded.
