Milan Cortina, Norwegians favourites in the skiathlon but Pellegrino chasing the podium

Trento, 8 February (LaPresse) – Expectations are rising at the Tesero cross-country stadium for the 20-kilometre skiathlon, scheduled for today at 12.30 pm. More than five thousand fans are expected, with a large contingent of Norwegians who, on paper, are the favourites. While Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, Harald Østberg Amundsen, Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget and Mattis Stenshagen are set to scoop up the medals, the Italian team is ready to battle it out in both the first 10 kilometres of classic style and the last 10 kilometres of free technique. Federico Pellegrino appears to be in excellent form, as do the other Italians Martino Carollo, Davide Graz and, above all, Elia Barp, who, wearing bib number 5, will be the first of the Italians to take on the Val di Fiemme circuit.
