Lake Placid (USA), Mar. 17 (LaPresse) – The Cross-country Skiing World Cup makes its debut in Lake Placid for the final stage of the season, a three-event program that between Friday March 20 and Sunday March 22 will feature an individual race in classical technique, followed by a sprint and a mass start in free technique. The Lake Placid stage will also be the last in the top circuit of the career of Federico Pellegrino: the Aosta Valley champion leads the Italian team which on the snow of New York state will be composed of eight athletes.The head coach Markus Cramer has in fact called up Pellegrino together with the other protagonists of the relay bronze medal at Milan Cortina 2026, Martino Carollo, Elia Barp and Davide Graz, in addition to Simone Mocellini, Caterina Ganz, Federica Cassol and Iris De Martin Pinter. The first event of the American triple-header will be the 10-kilometre individual race in classical technique which on Friday March 20 will see the women’s competition start at 6 p.m. (Italian time) followed at 8 p.m. by the men’s. On Saturday, the qualification round of the sprint in free technique is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. with the final stages starting from 6 p.m. On Sunday, the final races will start at 5:30 p.m. (men’s race) and at 7:30 p.m. (women’s), over the same distance of 20 kilometres.
