Turin, 28 March (LaPresse) – Fabio Di Giannantonio has secured pole position for the MotoGP class at the Grand Prix of the Americas. The Ducati VR46 rider clocked a time of 2:00.136, ahead of Marco Bezzecchi’s Aprilia (+0.193) and Pedro Acosta’s KTM (+0.349). Fourth place, 0.427 seconds off the pace, went to Pecco Bagnaia’s factory Ducati, hampered by traffic issues during the crucial phase of qualifying, whilst reigning world champion Marc Marquez finished sixth, half a second behind the pole-sitter (+0.501). In between, in fifth place, was Joan Mir’s Honda. Luca Marini also made the top ten, finishing ninth on the other Honda.
