Rome, 7 April (LaPresse) – Matteo Berrettini has reached the second round of the “Rolex Monte Carlo Masters”, the third 1000-level tournament of the season, with a prize fund of €6,309,095, which is being played on the clay courts of the Monte Carlo Country Club in the Principality of Monaco. The Italian, who opened his campaign on Court Ranieri III (the Country Club’s centre court), was leading 4-0 in the first set against Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut, ranked 85th in the ATP rankings (who had been given a wildcard into the draw as a lucky loser), when Agut was forced to retire due to a muscle injury.
