The Roman tennis player, who has slipped to number 90 in the world rankings, soundly defeated the world number 10, Russia’s Daniil Medvedev, with a resounding 6-0, 6-0 victory in just 51 minutes of play. In the next round, Berrettini will face the winner of the match between Brazil’s Joao Fonseca and France’s Arthur Rinderknech.
