Football, Hague: "Regret about the Rocchi affair, now continuity of technical function"

Turin, 27 April. (LaPresse) – The Italian Referees Association "expresses its regret for what has been learned from the press in relation to the affair involving the referee designator of Can A and B, Gianluca Rocchi, and the member Andrea Gervasoni. The National Committee, in today's session, will make the consequent decisions and ensure the continuity of the technical function of the aforementioned Commission". This is what we read in a note from The Hague. "With regards to the specific matter, the President of the Hague, Antonio Zappi, having received the complaint presented by Domenico Rocca, immediately ordered the sending of the documentation received to the Federal Prosecutor's Office of the FIGC – continues the Hague – Subsequently, the Association took note of the dismissal of the proceedings in the sporting field. The new technical regulation of the Hague, in force from 1 July 2025, now provides that the Head of the Can, on the occasion of each match round of the Serie A and Serie B championships and in other competitions with VAR, can designate, according to its own assessments, a supervisor from among the members of the Commission, responsible for carrying out a post-match technical debriefing and drawing up a report on the activity carried out, left to the faculty of the Can Manager".
