Milan, May 6 (LaPresse) – Joel Embiid will miss Game 2 of the NBA second-round playoff series between the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks due to a sprained right ankle and soreness in his right hip. The 76ers added their center to the injury list Wednesday morning, just hours before attempting to level the Eastern Conference semifinal series. Embiid struggled in the brief Game 1 appearance, lost by the Knicks 137-98, scoring 14 points on 3-of-11 shooting in 25 minutes before the starters were pulled with the game already out of reach. Embiid had returned to action after an appendectomy late in the season during Philadelphia’s first-round series against Boston, helping the 76ers come back from a 3-1 deficit.
