Fermo, 15 May (LaPresse) – Jonas Vingegaard has won the seventh stage of the 109th Giro d'Italia, the Formia-Blockhaus stage. The decisive move came around 4.5 km from the finish when the Team Visma Lease a Bike captain broke away from Italy’s Giulio Pellizzari (Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe), who crossed the line just over a minute behind. Vingegaard finished ahead of Austria’s Felix Gall of the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team. Portugal’s Afonso Eulalio retains the pink jersey as leader of the white jersey classification, sponsored by Conad. It was a difficult day, however, for Igor Arrieta, who today wore the jersey reserved for the best young rider in the Giro d’Italia.
