Rome, 24 May (LaPresse) – Celebrities, sports figures and others have sent birthday wishes to the producer and president of Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis, on his 77th birthday, in a series of videos shared on social media by the club. The first is Giovanni Malagò, candidate for the presidency of the Italian Football Federation. “Seventy-seven,” begins the former head of CONI, “perhaps that’s the age of a woman’s legs: how strong you are, you’ve made this birthday your own. Congratulations Aurelio, whatever else may be said: a hug full of affection, like family. We’ve spent time together recently too: lunches, dinners together, as a family and with the family. A hug that’s sportier than ever.” Then Antonio Conte, current Napoli manager: “At 77, saying ‘here’s to another 100 of these days’ seems a bit much to me,” he jokes, “but he might just manage it, given the strength and energy he has.” And after the Azzurri captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo, here is Carlo Verdone, with his medical advice: "You’re always fit and on the go; you’ve got an energy that’s frightening. But in the evening, take the 1000mg metformin, because you eat in the evening and so perhaps it’s better. Then in the morning, take the 500mg dose instead of the 750mg one.” The actor and director then suggests he switch his cholesterol medication. “That way you’ll be nice and clean and can get all the exercise you want,” he continues, “but do take it easy, even when we’re having our meetings. Be happy, you’re in the Champions League – what the hell more do you want from life?” Heartfelt birthday wishes from four former Napoli players such as José María Callejón, Fabio and Paolo Cannavaro and Faouzi Ghoulam, whilst a Marilyn-esque Serena Rossi sings ‘Happy Birthday Mr President’ to him, just as the diva did for JFK. And then Sal da Vinci and Gigi D’Alessio (messages ending with a classic ‘Forza Napoli’) and the writer Maurizio De Giovanni.
