Football, Mancini leaves Al Sadd. Club: "Good luck in your next challenge"

Rome, June 14 (LaPresse) – Al Sadd Sports Club announced on Saturday the departure of head coach Roberto Mancini after eight months in charge of the first team. Mancini had replaced Felix Sanchez. The Qatari club published a video interview with the Italian coach on its official X platform, in which he announced the end of his tenure with the team. He also expressed his gratitude and support to all first-team players, wishing them success for the future. "A short but valuable period, full of wonderful memories. Thank you, Mancini, and we hope the story continues one day. Good luck in your next challenge and we hope to see you soon… Goodbye," the club wrote in a post on its social channels. The 61-year-old Mancini led Al Sadd to the Qatar Stars League title in the 2025-2026 season and also took the team to the Emir Cup final, lost 4-1 to Al Gharafa at the Khalifa International Stadium. The former Italy national team coach is among the names, along with Antonio Conte, being considered for a return to the Azzurri bench.
