Toronto (Canada), 6 Mar. (LaPresse/AP) – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said he expects Canada and the United States to be in a trade war for the foreseeable future. Trudeau spoke after what he called a ‘colourful’ but constructive phone call with US President Donald Trump this week. Trudeau said the two sides discussed tariffs and that they are ‘actively engaged in ongoing conversations to try to make sure that these tariffs do not unduly harm’ certain sectors and workers. He also reiterated that ‘we will not back down on our response tariffs until the unjustified American tariffs on Canadian goods are lifted.’
