Middle East, hostage relatives: ‘Netanyahu ready to bury them for his interests’

Rome, 8 Mar (LaPresse) – A group of family members of hostages still in the hands of Hamas accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of sabotaging talks on the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the name of his own interests and warning that resuming fighting will kill the captives still alive. ‘The war could resume this week,’ said Einav Zangauker, whose son Matan is being held hostage in Gaza. Zangauker adds that the continuation of the war is in the prime minister's interest, as it would allow him to prolong the ongoing criminal trial, postpone the establishment of a state commission of enquiry into the handling of the war, and maintain the government with its far-right allies.
