The parties intend to present the document related to the coalition agreement this afternoon. CDU leader Friedrich Merz, CSU president Markus Söder, and SPD leaders Lars Klingbeil and Saskia Esken will hold a joint press conference at 3:00 PM, during which the coalition agreement will be presented. This will serve as the basis for a joint governmental collaboration. The leaders will then present the agreement to their respective party bases. In the coming days, SPD members will vote online, and the CDU will hold a closed summit towards the end of the month. At the beginning of May, the Bundestag could elect CDU leader Friedrich Merz as the new chancellor, with the scheduled date being May 7. According to German media reports, key ministries have already been distributed among the parties. The SPD is expected to receive the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Defense. The Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will go to the CDU-CSU. The Ministry of Justice is also expected to go to the SPD.
