Ukraine: Kyiv Denies Being 90% in Agreement with Trump Peace Plan

Turin, April 19 (LaPresse) – The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has denied reports claiming that Kyiv is “90%” in agreement with Donald Trump’s peace plan presented in Paris this week, as stated earlier by the New York Post, which cited a senior U.S. administration official as its source. In a statement to Sky News, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense said it “does not make political decisions” and therefore cannot provide “percentage assessments.” “We have several principled positions: we supported the U.S. proposal for a full ceasefire on March 11, while Russia did not support the U.S. ceasefire proposal and continues to strike Ukrainian cities and infrastructure daily,” the statement said. “Under these conditions, it is unclear how one can discuss or measure in ‘percentages’ the progress of any dialogue.” The statement also emphasized that for Kyiv, “the key question is how to ensure that the ceasefire proposal can work and be reliably monitored. We remain in constructive dialogue with our American partners and are fully committed to ending this war.”
