Nuclear: media reports new round of Iran-US talks on Sunday in Oman

Milan, 6 May (LaPresse) – The fourth round of talks between Iran and the United States on Iran's nuclear programme will be held on Sunday in Muscat, the capital of Oman, which is mediating the talks. This is according to the Iranian newspaper Nour News, which is close to Iran's Supreme National Security Council. Three rounds of Iran-US talks on Iran's nuclear programme have been held so far: the first in Oman on Saturday 12 April, the second in Rome on Saturday 19 April and the third again in Muscat on Saturday 26 April. The fourth round was initially scheduled for 3 May in Rome, but on 1 May Oman announced its rescheduling ‘for logistical reasons’. A few hours ago, Axios journalist Barak Ravid reported that he had learned from US envoy Steve Witkoff that Washington was trying to schedule the new meeting for this weekend. ‘If the meeting between the United States and Iran does not take place, it will only be because of President Trump's trip to the Middle East,’ Witkoff said, according to Ravid.
