Manila (Philippines), 12 May (LaPresse/AP) – Despite being detained in The Hague, Netherlands, former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is among the candidates running in today's midterm elections in the Philippines to renew approximately 18,000 national and local seats. Over 68 million Filipinos have registered to vote today for half of the 24 members of the Senate, all 317 seats in the House of Representatives and various positions in provinces, cities and municipalities. The spotlight is on the Senate race, which could determine the political future of Duterte's daughter, Vice President Sara Duterte.
