Rome, 28 May (LaPresse) – According to the New York Times, US officials fear that Israel may decide to attack Iran's nuclear programme without warning. US intelligence believes that Israel could prepare an attack in just seven hours, which would leave them very little time to try to pressure Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to change his mind. US intelligence officials are said to doubt the effectiveness of a unilateral attack by Israel, and Israeli officials believe that the United States would have no choice but to provide assistance if Tehran were to retaliate. According to the American newspaper, Israeli officials have explained to Washington that an attack could be carried out even if a nuclear agreement were reached between the United States and Iran.
