Syria: Israeli strikes in the south after rockets fired at the Golan

Turin, June 4 (LaPresse) – The Israeli Defense Forces stated they carried out a series of airstrikes in southern Syria, saying they “targeted weapons belonging to the regime” after two rockets were launched toward the Israeli side of the Golan Heights on Tuesday night, according to the Times of Israel. “The Syrian regime is responsible for what happens in Syria and will continue to bear the consequences as long as hostile activities continue from its territory,” the IDF said in a statement. “Violent explosions shook the city of Quneitra and the Daraa countryside in southern Syria following Israeli airstrikes,” reported the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. “The explosions were heard throughout the city and surrounding areas, as the 175th Regiment near Izra, the vicinity of Tal al-Mal north of Daraa, and Tal al-Shaar near Quneitra were targeted. So far, there are no confirmed reports of casualties.”
