Turin, 9 June (LaPresse) – Hamas has described Israel's seizure of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition's “Madleen”, a ship carrying humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, which set sail with 12 activists on board, including Greta Thunberg, as ‘state terrorism’. The militant group issued a statement condemning Israel's seizure of the humanitarian ship bound for Gaza, which it said amounted to ‘organised state terrorism’. ‘We salute the brave activists of various nationalities who stood up to threats and reiterated that Gaza is not alone,’ the statement said. Hamas said that the Madleen convoy and other humanitarian convoys bound for Gaza from Algeria, Tunisia and Jordan are ‘living testimony to the failure’ of the Israeli ‘propaganda machine’. It also called for the release of the activists and the condemnation of the seizure by the United Nations. ‘The seizure of the Madleen will not silence the voice of the free, nor will it stop the growing global solidarity with Gaza,’ Hamas said.
