Rome, 9 June (LaPresse) – Five hundred marines are on alert and ready to be deployed in Los Angeles due to pro-migrant protests. ABC News reports that the deployment will take place on the orders of US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth and in coordination with the US Northern Command. Donald Trump's actions in Los Angeles, where the National Guard has been deployed to counter pro-migrant protesters, are “dictatorial”, California's Democratic governor Gavin Newsom wrote on Twitter. “Inciting and provoking violence, creating mass chaos, militarising cities, arresting opponents – these are the acts of a dictator, not a president,” Newsom listed.
