Washington (USA), June 10 (LaPresse) – Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. has removed all 17 members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, the group of vaccine experts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This expert panel is responsible for guiding the federal government’s vaccine recommendations. In an editorial in the Wall Street Journal, Kennedy explained that the group was “plagued by conflicts of interest.” He stated that the committee will be replaced with new members. The Health Secretary said some members of the committee — traditionally pediatricians, epidemiologists, immunologists, and other doctors — had been “last-minute appointees” by the Biden Administration. “Without the removal of current members, the current Trump Administration would not have been able to appoint the majority of new members until 2028,” he wrote.
