Spyware case, Paragon: "For questions about journalist surveillance, ask Italy"

Rome, June 19 (LaPresse) – Paragon Solutions, “as is known, has terminated its commercial relationship with Italy following suspected misuse that exceeded the usage conditions defined in the contract with the company,” and therefore “recommends directing any questions regarding the alleged surveillance of Italian journalists to the Italian government, as the sovereign authority of the country and responsible for compliance with the law.”

This is stated in a company note published on X by Haaretz reporter Omer Benjakob. The statement also adds that Paragon “has informed the Italian government and the relevant oversight body, the parliamentary committee Copasir, and is willing to cooperate in investigations into journalist surveillance if necessary and in accordance with the wishes of the Italian authorities.”
