Iran, Khamenei adviser: ‘IAEA Director Grossi will pay for this’

Dubai (United Arab Emirates), 21 June (LaPresse/AP) – A senior adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Ali Larijani, promised in a social media post that the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) ‘will pay’ once the war with Israel is over. Ali Larijani's threat comes as Rafael Mariano Grossi has become a prime target for many Iranian officials, who claim that his contradictory statements on the status of Iran's nuclear programme incited last week's surprise Israeli attack. On Friday, Grossi told the UN Security Council that although Iran has the material necessary to build a nuclear bomb, it does not appear to have any intention of doing so.
