Turin, 21 June (LaPresse) – The United States and the European Union appear close to an agreement on many trade issues unrelated to tariffs, ranging from deforestation rules to the treatment of US technology companies in Europe. This is according to the Wall Street Journal, which stresses that the fate of tariffs remains uncertain.According to sources familiar with the text, the draft ‘reciprocal trade agreement’ released by the Office of the US Trade Representative outlines provisional agreements on a number of specific trade issues, including the EU's Digital Markets Act, carbon-based border tariffs, shipbuilding and more.
