Milan, 27 June (LaPresse) – At least 18 Palestinians were killed after an Israeli drone strike targeted a Hamas police unit trying to take control of a market in the town of Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip. This was reported by the BBC, citing a doctor and eyewitnesses. The latter reported that Israeli drones opened fire on members of a Hamas police force, dressed in civilian clothes and wearing masks, who were accusing vendors of price speculation and selling goods stolen from humanitarian aid trucks. The Hamas-run Interior Ministry condemned the attack and accused Israel of committing “a new crime against a police unit tasked with maintaining public order”.
