Washington (United States), 2 July. (LaPresse/AP) – The White House has confirmed the suspension of anti-aircraft missiles and other ammunition shipments to Ukraine. ‘This decision was made to prioritise American interests following a review by the Department of Defence of our country's military support and assistance to other countries around the world,’ White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said in a statement. ‘The power of the US Armed Forces remains unquestionable: just ask Iran,’ she added. According to the Pentagon's review, stocks of certain weapons that had initially been promised had fallen too low, an American official explained, and therefore the relevant shipments will not be made.
