Fire in Crete: 5,000 tourists evacuated

Milan, 3 July (LaPresse) – Around 5,000 tourists have been transferred from hotels in Ierapetra, Crete, due to a huge fire that has broken out on the Greek island. This was reported by the president of the Association of Hoteliers of Southeast Crete, George Tzarakis, quoted by the Greek news agency Amna. Tzarakis stressed that no hotels have been damaged, except for one in Agia Fotia, where there has been limited damage caused by the large fire that has been raging in the area since yesterday afternoon.
