Berlin (Germany), 4 July (LaPresse/AP) – A Flixbus coach travelling from Copenhagen to Vienna left the road in northern Germany and overturned, leaving 23 people injured, one of whom is in a serious condition. This was reported by the German police. The bus left the motorway at a junction leading to the town of Röbel, about 140 kilometres north of Berlin, police said. The causes of the accident are under investigation. According to Flixbus, there were 53 passengers and two drivers on board. It took rescuers about two hours to extract the seriously injured person. Emergency services, firefighters and a rescue helicopter were called to the scene. Authorities cordoned off the area around the road for the entire Friday morning. Flixbus expressed ‘great dismay’ at the bus accident and said it was cooperating with authorities to determine the cause of the accident.
