Drugs, major operation in Spain and Portugal: 64 arrests

Madrid (Spain), 11 July (LaPresse) – The Spanish Civil Guard, in a joint operation with Portuguese law enforcement agencies, has dismantled the main criminal organisation involved in the manufacture and supply of semi-rigid boats for drug trafficking in the Iberian Peninsula. The news was announced by the Civil Guard itself in a statement. During the operation, 64 people were arrested in Spain and Portugal and more than 7 tonnes of hashish, 650 kilos of cocaine, 19 high-speed boats, a fishing boat and 40 high-powered engines were seized, as well as 24 vehicles, 14 firearms and almost €800,000 in cash. The value of the goods and drugs seized from the organisation amounts to over 36 million euros.
