Turin, July 16 (LaPresse) – The Israel Defense Forces have announced, “after a new assessment,” that they will reinforce their presence near the Syrian border, reports the Times of Israel. The reinforcements include four companies from the Border Police, Military Police, and training troops from the Golani Brigade. The decision comes amid violent clashes in the majority-Druze city of Sweida in southern Syria and after members of the Druze community living in Israel briefly crossed into Syria in protest.
