Lima (Peru), 26 July (LaPresse/AP) – In Peru, the death toll from a bus accident has risen to 18, with 48 injured. The bus, a double-decker coach operated by the company “Expreso Molina Líder Internacional”, was travelling from the capital Lima to the Peruvian Amazon when it overturned on a motorway in the Andes and plunged down a slope in the district of Palca, in the Junín region. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Video footage broadcast on local television showed the bus split in two, with firefighters and police trying to rescue the injured.
