Milan, July 27 (LaPresse) – "We are working for a secure Israel and a free Palestine, living side by side in peace and security. The two-state solution must move from principle to reality." This is stated by the European Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Suica, ahead of the high-level conference on the Palestinian issue and the two-state solution to be held at the United Nations headquarters in New York starting Monday. "This is a crucial moment, not only for the broader Middle East but for all of us. Peace and prosperity in the surrounding countries also benefit Europe. This conference must serve to turn words into concrete actions. The EU is not just participating but helping to define the agenda. We do not merely call for peace but invest in it: we cooperate with our partners, provide humanitarian aid, support long-term resilience, and strengthen the institutions necessary to build a vital, democratic, and unified Palestinian state within the framework of a negotiated solution," Suica adds.
