Cairo (Egypt), Aug. 3 (LaPresse/AP) – A boat capsized today off the coast of Yemen, killing 68 African migrants. Another 74 are missing, according to the United Nations migration agency. The vessel, carrying 154 Ethiopian migrants, sank this morning off the southern province of Abyan, said Abdusattor Esoev, head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Yemen, in a statement to the Associated Press. He added that the bodies of 54 migrants were recovered in the Khanfar district, while another 14 were found dead and taken to the morgue at the hospital in Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan province, located on Yemen’s southern coast. Only 12 migrants survived the shipwreck; the others are missing and presumed dead.
