Korea, Seoul: Pyongyang is removing propaganda loudspeakers at the border

Seoul (South Korea), August 9 (LaPresse) – The South Korean military has reported that North Korea has started removing some loudspeakers from the border, which were used to broadcast propaganda messages. This move comes just days after South Korea dismantled its own loudspeakers, aiming to ease tensions.

South Korean residents have often complained about the noisy and annoying broadcasts from North Korea. Pyongyang halted transmissions in June after the new South Korean president suspended those from the South.

However, tensions between the two Koreas could rise again with the upcoming military exercises between South Korea and the United States, which North Korea considers a rehearsal for an invasion.
