Moscow, Aug. 9 (LaPresse) – Russian presidential advisor Yuri Ushakov has confirmed Alaska as the venue for the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump. The summit will take place on August 15.
“It seems quite logical that our delegation will simply fly over the Bering Strait, and that such an important and anticipated summit of the two countries’ leaders will be held in Alaska,” Ushakov told journalists, according to Tass. The advisor said the two leaders will discuss a long-term agreement on Ukraine as well as their respective economic interests “which intersect in Alaska and the Arctic.” The Kremlin expects the next meeting between Putin and Trump after Alaska to be held on Russian soil. “The corresponding invitation to the U.S. president has already been delivered,” Ushakov stated.
