Ukraine: Putin Hopes for Agreement with US on Strategic Weapons

Milan, Aug. 14 (LaPresse) – Agreements on the control of offensive strategic weapons could be reached between Russia and the United States following negotiations for a settlement in Ukraine. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting at the Kremlin dedicated to tomorrow’s summit between Donald Trump and Putin in Alaska. According to Putin, the agreements on Ukraine should create conditions for long-term peace between the two countries and in Europe. “And in the world as a whole, if we reach agreements on the control of offensive strategic weapons in the subsequent stages,” the Russian leader said.
