Ramallah, (West Bank), 30 August. (LaPresse) – The office of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has urged the US government to revoke its decision to revoke his visa ahead of his participation in the United Nations General Assembly in New York in September and an international conference on the creation of a Palestinian state. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio revoked the visas of Abbas and 80 other officials. Abbas has addressed the General Assembly for many years and generally leads the Palestinian delegation. ‘We call on the US administration to reverse its decision. This decision will only increase tension and escalation,’ Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh told the Associated Press from Ramallah.
