London (United Kingdom) 11 September (LaPresse/AP) – British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has removed the UK ambassador to the United States, Peter Mandelson, over his links to Jeffrey Epstein. In a statement to the House of Commons, Foreign Secretary Stephen Doughty explained that the decision came after the publication this week of emails sent by Mandelson to Epstein. ‘In light of new information contained in emails written by Peter Mandelson, the Prime Minister has asked the Foreign Secretary to revoke his appointment as ambassador,’ the Foreign Office said in a statement. ‘The emails show that the depth and extent of the relationship between Peter Mandelson and Jeffrey Epstein are substantially different from what was known at the time of his appointment,’ the statement continued.
