Warsaw (Poland), Sept. 13 (LaPresse/AP) – Polish and allied aircraft were deployed in a “preventive” operation in Polish airspace due to the threat of drone attacks in areas adjacent to Ukraine. The airport in the city of Lublin, in eastern Poland, was closed. This afternoon, the Polish army's operational command posted on X that air defense and ground reconnaissance systems were on high alert. It emphasized that “these actions are preventive in nature” and aim to ensure the security of Polish airspace and protect the country’s citizens. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk also announced that “preventive air operations” had begun in Polish airspace due to the threat posed by Russian drones operating near Ukraine.
