Lebanon: UNIFIL, IDF drone crashes into our base in Naqoura, no injuries

Turin, 24 September (LaPresse) – "Yesterday afternoon, an Israeli drone crashed inside the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura. No one was injured. Explosive ordnance disposal experts immediately secured and neutralised the device. It was determined that the drone was not armed, but was equipped with a camera.‘ This was announced on X by UNIFIL spokesperson Kandice Ardiel. ’The Israeli Defence Forces subsequently confirmed that the drone belonged to them," she explained. "Like all flights by drones and other IDF assets over southern Lebanon, this constitutes a violation of Resolution 1701 and Lebanese sovereignty. UNIFIL takes any interference or threat against its personnel, installations or operations with the utmost seriousness and will formally protest this act,‘ she continued. Despite these difficulties, peacekeepers are working impartially and tirelessly to support security and stability in southern Lebanon, which ongoing violations continue to jeopardise.’
